I have more than 30 years experience in litigating and trial work involving injury claims of all types. I also assist my clients with resolving insurance coverage issues and with defeating or reducing liens and claims for reimbursement from insurers and health plans.

I also assist persons who are injured as a result of slips, trips and falls and dangerous conditions of property. Nationwide the number of injuries resulting from slips, trips and falls is second only to motor vehicle accidents. On four separate occasions I successfully tried slip and fall accident cases to jury verdicts in my clients' favor in sizeable amounts.

 

I represent businesses and individuals in lawsuits arising out of contracts, leases and business agreements. I assist clients in collecting on business debts. I handle business interference and unfair competition matters, and represent construction contractors in enforcing their mechanics liens and rights to payment.

 

I counsel and represent businesses in regulatory compliance matters; represent them in administrative enforcement proceedings conducted by governmental entities; review, prepare and give advice regarding business contracts and leases; counsel and advise businesses with regard to their obligations to comply with applicable laws, regulations and licensing requirements.

I also assist new and expanding businesses in meeting their due diligence requirements for obtaining Small Business Administration loans and other financing.

 

I provide counsel and representation to individuals and businesses concerning their entitlements and obligations under their insurance policies and where appropriate assist them with enforcing their claims for benefits whether it be a life insurance claim (see my account of Bertrand v. Minnesota Life in my "Cases of Note" section), an uninsured or underinsured motorist claim under an automobile insurance policies, or a property loss claim under a business or homeowners property insurance policy.
